GS1 in Albania

GS1 ALBANIA, Albanian automatic numbering association, is an independent organization, non-profiting and registered in court. Formed in june 2006, it is member of international association –GS1, with headquarters in Brussels, Belgium.

GS1 Albania has taken her international prefix, 530. which is put always before the number of identification of products of Albanian member companies of GS1 Albania.

GS1 Albania is the only representative of GS1 in Albania that has the certificate for the rights of GS1 and exclusive authorization to define and to develop the EAN/UCC system in the country.

GS1 in Albania is a member of GS1 since 29th of May 2006. Its mission is the promotion and the administration of the GS1 system in Albania.

As a member of GS1 our role consists in...

• Promotion and explaining the proper use of GS1 standards to all Albanian companies
  
  
• Allocation and administration of GS1 to Albanian companies
  
  
• Taking care of the needs and requests of Albanian companies regarding the implementation of the GS1 system and collaboration with GS1 for providing proper solutions
  
  
• Providing technical specifications and guidelines for the correct use of the GS1 system
